Owner of Stefan’s Bakery
Otto Stefan, 102, of Forest Park, died on Oct. 11, 2019. Born on July 5, 1917, he owned and operated Stefan’s Bakery in Forest Park on Roosevelt Road from 1956 to 1972. After retiring from the bakery, he became a maintenance engineer at Rosary College (Dominican University) in River Forest.
Otto was the husband of Teresia (nee Kunzel); the father of David (Barb) Stefan, Edward (Liz) and the late Gerhard (Monica); grandfather of Christopher, Becky, Lizzy, Michelle, Tressie, Andrea, Katheryn and Timothy; the great-grandfather of Beverly, Edy, Zoe, Elle, Gabbie, Stefan, Elana, Kelcey, Morgan, Karly, Tessa and Warren; and the brother of the late Ernst.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Park’s St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 305 Circle Ave., with interment at Forest Home Cemetery.
