The village council and Mayor Rory Hoskins voted at an April 27 meeting to extend the declared state of emergency in Forest Park. The extension is valid through May 11 or the adjournment of the next regularly scheduled village council meeting.

On March 23, the village first officially declared a state of emergency in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and gave temporary executive power to the mayor. On April 13, the village extended the state of emergency.

Hoskins and the commissioners, Joe Byrnes, Ryan Nero, Dan Novak and Jessica Voogd voted unanimously on the issue.
