Chef Gaetano’s Artisan Foods, 7636 Madison St., is welcoming guests for its soft opening from Oct. 6 through Saturday, Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Six patrons are allowed in the store at a time as Chef Gaetano Di Benedetto gets his crew up and running. Expect extraordinary smells as you patiently peruse artisan breads, fresh pastas, premium meats, and house made sauces. An array of gourmet shelf stable ingredients and wines complement the house-made items.

Notable finds included house-smoked ricotta, fresh spinach and ricotta triangoli, and wild boar ragu. Gaetano’s Artisan Foods also offers enticing house-made pizzas; they are hybrid between a Roman Pinsa and a Sicilian pizza and benefit from a 50-hour fermentation and a dual cooking method.
