The Circle Avenue bridge over I-290 won’t open to vehicular traffic until mid-November, according to Commissioner of Streets and Public Improvement Ryan Nero.
During the Oct. 13 village council meeting, Nero announced the delay, making it clear that this is not a Forest Park project and the village has no “care, custody, or control over what happens there.”
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) closed the bridge in early September for deck, structural and sidewalk repairs. At the time, IDOT said the work would be completed in about four weeks, which would been around the end of September.
The project end was extended until mid-October, and now until mid-November.
