Effective Nov. 1, the US Bank branch on the corner of Madison Street and Desplaines Avenue will be permanently closed.

According to Evan Lapiska, vice president of public affairs and corporate communications, “The closure is part of previously discussed work that kicked off in early 2019 to optimize our branch delivery networks in response to changing customer preferences and behaviors.”

Other branches, he said, are opening, and US Bank is “rapidly enhancing [its] digital capabilities.”

Lapiska said employees and customers have been notified of the closure at 7525 Madison St., and the location had been temporarily closed “as part of operational changes during the pandemic.”
