Free turkeys are being provided to Proviso Township High School District 209 families on Saturday, Nov. 21, courtesy of the D209 faculty and staff, according to a press release from Nicole Wilson, communications director for the district.

Turkeys will be given to families with children attending Proviso East, Proviso West, or the Proviso Math and Science Academy.

The contactless drive-through distribution of turkeys will be held at each of the three D209 schools. One turkey will be given to each family, and those with kids at more than one school should pick up at the school their oldest child attends.

Here’s how D209’s Turkey Express works:

  • Pull into the school parking lot and provide the name of a parent.
  • Pop the trunk.
  • Wait while D209 staff puts a turkey in your trunk.
  • Drive off.

Turkeys are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Once turkeys are gone, the parking lots will be closed.

Pick up turkeys at the school where your oldest child attends. Here’s the schedule:

  • PMSA, 8601 Roosevelt Rd., Forest Park, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Proviso East, 807 S. First Avenue, Maywood, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
  • Proviso West, 4701 Harrison St., Hillside from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
