A car was stolen at gunpoint at Crystal Car Wash, 901 Harlem Ave., around 7 p.m. on Feb. 9. The victim reported that his car was parked at the vacuums on the northeast side of the car wash when an unknown black sedan parked behind his vehicle.
Two unknown males wearing black face masks got out of the sedan and approached the victim’s vehicle, one at the passenger’s side and one at the driver’s side.
According to the police report, after a brief struggle over the victim’s backpack, the victim said one of the offenders pulled out a silver handgun, put it to the victim’s head, and told him to give up his belongings.
The victim backed away from his vehicle while the offenders drove his car northbound on Harlem Avenue. The black sedan was also driven away from the car wash.
The victim’s backpack, valued at around $600, was in the car along with the victim’s credit card and keys.
Security footage of the hijacking was available from the car wash. As of Feb. 10 at 2 p.m., the suspects have not been apprehended.
