A car was stolen from the Citgo gas station at 7323 Randolph St. on March 3 at 5:09 p.m. when a woman left her car running and went inside the store to pay for gas. She took her keys with her, but the offender was able to drive away in her car.
A witness said he observed a male subject in his late teens or early twenties crouching down and walking towards the woman’s car. He also saw a white SUV parked at another pump at the gas station. The witness saw the male subject get into the woman’s car and flee eastbound down Randolph Street. The white SUV did the same.
OnStar was working in the stolen car, however, and an ignition block was placed on the car, which was located in Chicago.
