Zimmerman Cleaners at Roosevelt Road and Circle Avenue (now Forest Park Bank) was a popular dry cleaners in town.  The dry-cleaning business was strong for decades until the 70’s when polyester fabric came into vogue.  Tom Zimmerman had clever marketing materials including pithy slogans and a coupon that looked like a $20 bill that said “This may be a phoney bill, but our quality of dry cleaning is not.”
This photo was taken from Zimmerman’s Cleaners, shows the well known sign at the corner and across Roosevelt the used car lot “Becauro Veron” (now a village parking lot).
