The Giant Safety Coaster, a main attraction at the Forest Park Amusement Park was also known as Chase Through the Clouds.  This wooden coaster was at the time the highest, longest and steepest coaster in the United States.  It was designed by the Ingersol Engineering & Constructing Company and built by Paul Howse’s Coaster Construction Company.

At night it lit up with an outline of electric lights and the coaster ran alongside the fence of Concordia Cemetery, where screaming passengers could be heard from blocks away.
