Betty Schultz

Betty J. Schultz (nee Gaedt), died peacefully at her home on Aug. 3, 2021, four days shy of her 92nd birthday. Born and raised in Forest Park and recently of Carmel, California, she was a proud lifetime member of St John Lutheran Church in Forest Park.

Blessed with a warm, generous heart, her door was always open to family and friends. She was very active until recent years and will be remembered as a Forest Park Brownie Troop leader; past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 7181; longtime president of the Forest Park Senior Citizens Club; St. John Ladies Aid member, and talented quilter. She was recognized on numerous occasions for her efforts to supply U.S. service members with her famous care packages. She also was an award-winning square dancer, avid bowler, baker, master of the crochet needle, and craft person extraordinaire.

Betty was pre-deceased by her parents, Oswald & Gertrude (Seeck) Gaedt; her siblings, Dolores (Kenneth) Clemmons, Howard (Doreen) Gaedt, and Carolyn (Joe) Borchers; her cousins Audrey Bach, Roger Kuecker and Ron Seeck; her husband, Floyd; her daughter, Lois Lizabeth; and several nieces and nephews. 

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Aug. 13 at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison St., Forest Park, followed by interment at Oakridge Cemetery.
