Knitting for Good

Join officials from the Forest Park Public Library to knit an item for the Little Free Pantry from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at 7555 Jackson Blvd.

NaNoWriMo Ask A Writer

Local author Maria Maxham will help prospective novelists sort through writer's block, thorny plot issues, character development and more from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Property Tax Appeal Seminar

Learn from the Cook County Board of Review and the Proviso Township Assessor's office about how to determine if your home was over-assessed, gather evidence for an appeal and fill out an complaint form at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd. Taxpayers are encouraged to bring their tax bill, assessment notice or property identification number.

Baby Clothes and Toy Swap

Donate gently-used baby and toddler items, as well as maternity clothes and gear. Shop for free all weekend. Families and kids under 5. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Call with questions about donations, eligibility at 708-689-6126.

 Healthy Living For Your Brain and Body

Learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagements, and use hands-on tools to help incorporate recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. Fun runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.

Engage Café

Join the District 91 Board of Education and administration officials for casual questions and conversation about school matters from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Betsy Ross Elementary School, 1301 Marengo Ave. Childcare will be provided.

Portillo's For Good

Enjoy Portillo's and benefit the Forest Park Middle School Boosters from 5 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 26 at 7740 W. Roosevelt Rd. Twenty percent of all proceeds benefit the Boosters. 

Funding Your Educational Goals

Thrivent Financial will school students and their families on how to cut college costs, open a school savings account, scholarship information and much more, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Candy Cane Lane Craft Fair

Shop local vendors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Roos Recreation Center, 7329 W. Harrison St.

After Hours Minecraft Party

Enjoy after-hours Minecraft-themed gaming and snacks from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.

The Book of Mormon

Join officials from the Howard Mohr Community Center in a trip to The Oriental theater to see The Book of Mormon musical from 9:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 21. Lunch is included at Petterino's; the group will stop at Chriskindlmarket before they head home. $85 for residents; $89 non-resident. Reservations required. Call the Howard Mohr Community Center at 708-771-7737 to sign up.
