Holiday Walk and Live Window Displays

Enjoy the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce's annual walk down Madison Street from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 30. 

Animal Care League Holiday Bazaar

Get pictures of your pet with Santa, participate in a raffle, enjoy live music and much more during the weekend of Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. The Bazaar will run from 3 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 30; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 1; and 11 a.m to 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Animal Care League, 1003 Garfield in Oak Park. 

Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body

Learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagements, and use hands-on tools to help incorporate recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. Fun runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Yogurt Making Workshop 

Learn how to make yogurt, yogurt cheese balls and frozen yogurt from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Miss Saigon

Join officials from the Howard Mohr Community Center for a trip to the Cadillac Palace in Chicago from 9:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lunch is included. $77 for residents; $81 for non-residents. Reservations required. Call the Howard Mohr Community Center at 708-771-7737 to sign up.

Christmas With a Cause

Enjoy McGaffer's annual "Christmas With a Cause" at 3 p.m. on Dec. 1 to 2 a.m. on Dec. 2 at 7737 Roosevelt Rd. Bring an unwrapped toy. Proceeds will benefit Shriner's Hospital for Children, Hines Fischer House, Opportunity Knocks and many other organizations.  

NaNoWriMo Ask A Writer

Local author Maria Maxham will help prospective novelists sort through writer's block, thorny plot issues, character development and more from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.

Join fellow mystery lovers to discuss "A Higher Call" by authors Adam Makos and Larry Alexander from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 Madison St.
