Mayor Candidates Forum

The Forest Park Review and the Forest Park Public Library will host a mayor's candidate forum 1:30 to 3 p.m. on March 10 in the Austin Room at the library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Please submit any questions you would like candidates to answer to Nona Tepper, staff reporter at the Review, at ntepper@wjinc.com before the event.

Board of Education Candidates Forum

The Forest Park Review and the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce and Development will hold a candidate forum for District 91 and District 209 board of education candidates at 6:30 p.m. on March 6 at Forest Park Middle School, 925 Beloit Ave. Please submit any questions you would like candidates to answer to Nona Tepper, staff reporter at the Review, at ntepper@wjinc.com.

Mayor, Commissioner Candidate Forums

The Forest Park Review and the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce and Development will hold a candidate forum for village commissioner and mayor candidates at 6:30 p.m. on March 21 at Forest Park Middle School, 925 Beloit Ave. Please submit any questions you would like candidates to answer to Nona Tepper, staff reporter at the Review, at ntepper@wjinc.com.

OPRF League of Women Voters Mayor, Commissioner Forums

The OPRF League of Women Voters will host a forum for Forest Park mayor and commissioner candidates from 6:30 to 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 19 at Forest Park Middle School, 925 Beloit Ave.

Emancipation to Inauguration: The Black Experience in Chicago

Historian Clarence Goodman will talk about the deep, rich and proud African-American presence in Chicago, from the city's first settler to the nation's chief executive. Fun runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.

Facebook Privacy

Take a deep dive into your Facebook settings and learn how you can stay as private as possible while still enjoying yourself, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Grown Up Game Night

Either compete or play against each other at the Forest Park Public Library's Grown Up Game Night, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. Games include Scrabble, Exploding Kittens, Flash Point and more. 

Art and PeerSupport Group 

The Progress Center for Independent Living will host an art and peer support group from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the Progress Center, 7521 Madison St. The group is open to people of all ages with any type of disability. 

The Mouse Trap

Join the traveling seniors of the Howard Mohr Community Center for a trip from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 20 to the Metropolis Theater in Arlington Heights for "The Mouse Trap," the longest-running play in London's West End and one of the best mysteries ever written for stage. Enjoy lunch first at Armand's. Cost $85 for residents, and $89 for non-residents. Lunch is included with the play. Reservations required. Please call the Howard Mohr Community Center at 708-771-7737 to sign up. 

The Mystery Discussion Group

Join fellow mystery-lovers for a discussion of author Laurie R. King's "Touchstone: A Stuyevesant & Gray Novel" from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 Madison St. 

Tweens, Teens Movie Night

Young adults in grades fifth through eighth are invited to the Park District of Forest Park for a movie night, where staff will screen a PG or PG-13 film and serve either hotdog or pizza. Popcorn will be provided, and candy will be available for sale. Residents $7 and non-residents $10. Fun runs from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 15 at building 4 at 7501 Harrison St.

Our Empowered Community: Open Access to Financial Power

In honor of Black History Month, the Forest Park Diversity Commission will hold a talk on business, finance and home ownership from 1 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd. Childcare will be provided. 

Yoga Sessions 

The Progress Center for Independent Living will offer its monthly yoga session from 4:15 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Progress Center, 7521 Madison St. Suggested donation $5.
