Celebrating the Arts

Forest Park Middle School is celebrating the arts during the month of March. On Wednesday, March 8th, we celebrated our annual Art's Night. Students showcased their artistic talents all evening. Parents and fellow classmates were able to peruse the beautiful artwork on the walls, listen to the musical offerings from the band and choir and listened to some spoken word poetry and short stories.
Next week will be the second annual poetry slam. In keeping with the arts theme, the 8th graders have been studying, analyzing and writing poetry. They will be performing their slam poems on both Monday and Tuesday next week. The top ten individual slam winners and the top five team slam winners will be invited to perform at an open Poetry Celebration next week Thursday evening.
Thank you to everyone who attended Art's Night this week. We hope that some of you can come back and help up celebrate poetry next week as well
