Kindergarten Student Visits WGN Studios

Garfield has one very lucky Kindergarten student! Back in December, Mrs. Whittington gave her students a writing prompt, "If I could go anywhere on the Polar Express,I would go to. . . ". Alex wrote that he would go to WGN News and drew a picture of himself with Micah Materre. Upon seeing this, Mrs. Whittington contacted Micah Materre who in turn invited Alex. his parents and Mrs. Whittington to WGN Studios. They all went yesterday before the evening news and met Micah, along with the rest of her team including Tom Skilling and Ben Bradley. According to Mrs. Whittington, Alex was so excited that he was speechless. How amazing that Mrs. Whittington and Micah Materre were able to make this little boy's dream happen!
