Playground with PAWSitive Therapy's Deke

Chat with parents and caregivers at an open playtime from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on May 17 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. Different sensory and playstations will be featured for children ages 5 and under. Deke from PAWSitive Therapy Troupe will visit. 

Author Discussion and Signing 

Join author Patricia Skalka for a discussion and signing of her book "Death by the Bay," from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 19 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 Madison St. 

Kiwanis Pasta Dinner 

Join the Kiwanis Club of Forest Park for its annual pasta dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. on May 18 at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $7 for children and those age 65 and older. Interactive Movie

Kids of all ages and their families are invited to attend an interactive screening of "Lilo and Stitch," from 3 to 5 p.m. on May 18 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Mystery Discussion Group

Join mystery lovers for a discussion of author Elsa Hart's "Jade Dragon Mountain: A Mystery" from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 18 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 Madison St. 

Rock Around the Clock 

Join officials from the Howard Mohr Community Center for a trip to Starved Rock for a trolley tour, river cruise and performance of such toe tappers as "Rock Around the Clock, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on May 22. Tickets are $76 for residents, and $80 for non-residents. Meal included. 

Dynamic People with Disabilities 

Attend the monthly support group for people with disabilities and learn about federal legislation outlining rights, from 1 to 3 p.m. on May 15 at the Progress Center for Independent Living, 7521 Madison St. 

Library Plalking Meetup 

Plalk—or Pick Up Litter While Walking—with library representatives from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on May 18 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Books on the Chopping Block 

Enjoy a performance by City Lit Theater of dramatic readings of short excerpts of books from the 10 most frequently challenged book s of 2017, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on May 15 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. A brief discussion and question-and-answer session will follow the performance.

Reading Awake Book Group

Join fellow book lovers for a discussion of author Barbara Kingsolver's "Unsheltered," from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on May 22 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.
