Field-Stevenson students have a wide variety of instruments to choose from this year.  Last week, Mr. Kelly stopped by to give student the opportunity to test drive the instruments.  PResearch shows that playing an instrument has many educational benefits for children. Learning to improve by practing a craft increases grit and increases self-confidence and helps to build good work habits.  By taking on a new discipline, students may benefit from an increase hand-eye coordination and spatial intelligence.  Finally, the band performance supports positive risk-taking and builds camaraderie, helping students reach their potential.
