27 COVID-19 deaths; village and county see increase in cases

A 72-year-old woman died from COVID-19 on Jan. 4, the village’s 27th victim of the virus.

Over the past two weeks, Forest Park, following the trend of the rest of suburban Cook County, saw an uptick in COVID-19 cases, with a 20.8 percent increase over the past two weeks on Jan. 11.

As of Jan. 11, there were 31 new cases reported during the previous week, and a total of 935 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
