Forest Park Fire Chief Steve Glinke issued a warning Thursday that fake phone solicitors were calling Forest Parkers seeking donations on behalf of the Forest Park Fire Department.

The department received complaints that a male caller, identifying himself as a Forest Park Firefighter named "Tim O'Halloran" was asking citizens for donations and credit card numbers.

"This solicitation is a scam," Glinke said in a statement. "It is in no way sanctioned by the Village of Forest Park or the Fire Department."

If you believe you have received one of these phone calls, contact the Forest Park police hotline at (708) 615-6239.
