Proviso Township High School District 209 announced seven candidates who had filed petitions Wednesday to run in the April 9, 2013 election for four board seats.
Board incumbents Dan Adams, Brian Cross and Kevin McDermott submitted signature petitions for the school board race. Also submitting petitions were Teresa D. McKelvy of Berkeley, Jorie Wright of Bellwood, Arbdella “Della” Patterson of Maywood and John E. Wicks Sr. of Bellwood, former president of Bellwood Elementary School District 88.
Current D209 school board President Emanuel “Chris” Welch kept his campaign promise and declined to file petitions. Welch will head to Springfield in January as the 7th District’s state representative.
