Robert Hamilton, 80
Professor of Biology
Robert Wilson Hamilton, PhD, 80, of Forest Park, formerly of Wheeling, Illinois and Davenport, Iowa, died on March 8, 2020. He was a professor of biology and entomology (insects) at Loyola University Chicago for 43 years before retiring in 2012.
Dr. Hamilton was the father of Torri (Matthew Hobbs) Hamilton, Angie (Ben Zlotucha) Hamilton, Amanda (Daniel) Schmidt, and Jenna (Frank) Quatraro. He was the silly and fun grandpa to Charlie and Emlyn Zlotucha, Sophia, Samantha and Maxwell Schmidt, and Libby and Maisy Quatraro; brother of the late Thomas (Gayle) Hamilton; uncle of Sheila and Thomas Hamilton Jr.; and son of the late Burley "Joe" and Adrienne Vera Hamilton. He is also survived by his other "brother," cousin Jack (Carole) Hamilton.
Visitation was held on March 12 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service on March 13 at Chicago's LaSalle Street Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the World Wildlife Federation (worldwildlife.org).
