SUV stolen from gas station lot
A 2007, black GMC Denali was reported stolen at 5:27 p.m. May 29 from the lot of Citgo gas station, 7400 Roosevelt Road.
The vehicle’s owner told police he parked his SUV at a pump with the keys in the vehicle. While he talked to another person, two men pulled into the lot in a white vehicle and asked him to go inside and buy them a cigar.
He told them “no” and turned away when a third man ran along the east side of the parking lot and got into the victim’s SUV and drove away, followed by the white vehicle.
Retail thefts reported
A 42-year-old Maywood man was charged June 1 with retail theft after taking more than $130 in body wash and shampoo without paying at Walmart, 1300 Desplaines Ave.
A 39-year-old Maywood man was charged June 1 with criminal trespassing, retail theft and resisting or obstructing police at Walmart, 1300 Desplaines Ave. Police said the man had been previously arrested in 2008 for retail theft at Walmart.
The man took five items without paying with a total value of $49.91.
More than $150 worth of merchandise was reported stolen at 11:45 a.m. on June 3 from Walgreens, 7200 W. Roosevelt Road.
Police were told a woman entered the store and picked up a prescription before taking the items and placing them in a shopping bag. She fled from the store with another woman without paying for the items.
Bike stolen from balcony
A bicycle of unknown value was reported stolen at 12:39 p.m. June 2 from the balcony of a second floor apartment in the 7400 block of Randolph Street.
Purse stolen in parking lot
A woman reported her purse was stolen at 8:33 p.m. June 4 while she was in the parking lot of Walmart, 1300 Desplaines Ave.
The woman said she was distracted by two people while she was loading groceries in her vehicle and later noticed her purse was missing. Her purse was turned into staff at Walmart, but her iPhone was missing.
Vehicles burglarized
A vehicle was reported burglarized at 8:41 a.m. on May 29 in the first block of Elgin Avenue. Stolen were the vehicle’s owner’s manual and sunglasses.
A vehicle was reported burglarized at 12:29 p.m. on May 30 at Woodlawn Cemetery in the 7600 block of Cermak Road.
The vehicle’s owner said he left the vehicle in the parking lot while he attended a Memorial Day ceremony and when he returned he discovered three center wheel covers for the vehicle were missing.
A GPS unit was reported stolen from a locked vehicle at 7:36 p.m. on June 1 in the 1100 block of Circle Avenue.
A vehicle was reported burglarized at 8:58 a.m. on June 2 in the 7200 block of Dixon Street. The vehicle’s owner said reported parking the vehicle the night before and discovered the trunk open in the morning.
Stolen was a Coach duffle bag worth $400, workout clothing, a wallet, an HP laptop computer worth $800 and Apple iPad Air worth $500.
Drinking in public
A 21-year-old Oak Park woman was cited at 1:12 a.m. on June 3 in the 7400 block of Madison Street after police reported seeing her drinking alcohol outside a bar.
Police asked the woman to pour out the drink. She began to, but when the officer turned away she began to drink her cocktail again. The woman was issued a local citation for open alcohol.
Police reported seeing a 20-year-old Chicago man drinking a beer at 12:29 a.m. on June 4 in the area of Circle Avenue and Madison Street. Police learned the man was underage and placed him under arrest.
According to the police report, the man screamed at them and spit inside the police vehicle while also stating, “Let me out of these cuffs, and I’ll kick your ass.” Police said the man continued to yell at the police station, as well as uncontrollably cry. He was issued a local citation for public intoxication.
CTA train cars spray painted
Police were alerted to an incident of graffiti at 8:58 a.m. on June 3 near the CTA Green Line station, 1 Harlem Ave., after spray paint was discovered on four CTA train cars.
The cars were idle on the storage track at the location. The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the report.

Unless otherwise indicated, anybody named in these reports has only been charged with a crime. These cases have not been adjudicated.
