Dear Midge,
Thank you very much for your note and handwriting sample and for your kind words about this column. I’m glad you find it interesting.
Your writing is vertical (straight up and down), slow, wide, light, connected and legible. And these writing characteristics reveal some interesting things about your personality.
For example, your straight up and down writing tells me that you display poise, judgment, realism, and that you meet problems in a calm manner. You usually show reason rather than emotion and you keep control over your emotions. You weight your words carefully before uttering them and you keep yourself at a safe emotional distance from others. You are skeptical, secretive, and independent and appeals to you must be made logically rather than sentimentally. You are unexpressive and usually will not show what you feel. You do not join impulsively and you do not jump into things without thinking first. You function well in emergencies and sometimes come across as being independent, undemonstrative, detached and even indifferent.
Since your mind disciplines your emotions you are emotionally stable, composed, orderly, dependable, persevering and practical.
I know you are smart because of the U and upside down U formations in your small Ms and Ns. You are an exploratory thinker with a strong desire to learn new things and you are willing to work and study to find answers. You draw your own conclusions rather than accept someone else’s.
Your writing, Midge, is also legible, connected and simplified, and this shows that you are sincere, patient, honest, cooperative, mature, and have a lot of common sense.
You sometimes feel a lot of tension and inner anxiety which keep you from being more spontaneous and enthusiastic, but you would rather be safe than sorry.
It is interesting that you say “God forbid” when talking about your weaknesses because you really want to be accepted and appreciated and never want to be disliked or disrespected. You want to look good and to be good, and you usually do both.
Good luck and happy Columbus day.
