Chop a bun!

Marshall Field & Company-later Marshall Fields-is now gone forever. Fannie May is gone as well, and now another institution, a landmark, Ed O’Shea’s law office above the bank will be relocated to 7502 Madison St. It’s still in Forest Park, but no longer in its familiar spot. Best wishes for a successful future to Sharon O’Shea, Kevin Katsis, Donna Eggers and all the rest.

Regina Murray and her tiny white bundle of a dog, Casper just graduated from puppy school at PetSmart. Little Casper can now sit, stay, sit-stay and down-stay for five seconds. Unfortunately, Casper’s long, flowing, silky white hair got caught in a sticker bush just days before graduation. But he is still a very handsome fellow, don’t you agree?

Apologies to Lucy and Joe Gianelli for giving them the wrong wedding anniversary. They were married on March 2, and here they are showing off the T-shirts their daughter got for them. Joe’s shirt reads “I’m not only perfect, I’m Italian.” Lucy’s says, “Pray for me, I’m married to an Italian.”

Apologies to Joann and Cliff Leber for consistently misspelling their names. Give me credit for consistency though.

Tina and Gary Neubeiser will be married for 15 years on Sept. 28. Congratulations Neubeisers.

The Oak Park Concert Chorale will present “A cappella Joy” concerts this season. “Celebration Gala” at the Carleton Hotel in Oak Park is on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m.; a pre-Christmas “Away in a Manger” at St. John, 305 Circle Ave. on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 4 p.m. and an April 14, 2007, at the Hemingway Museum and on April 28, 2007, at Grace Lutheran in River Forest.

Our nationally famous Centuries & Sleuthe will feature Mysteries to Knit with discussions of Agatha Christie’s “Miss Marple: Sleeping Murder” on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. Note the location: Chix with Stix, 7316 Madison St. in Forest Park.

Forest Park is the setting for “The Scout Master: A Prepared Death,” by Grace Marsden, the fourth in her series. Back at the 7419 Madison St. address. On Wednesday Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. Erik Larson will discuss and sign copies of his soon to be released “Thunderstruck.”

Happy anniversary to Rev. Tom and Bobbie Holmes on Sept. 28 along with the Neubeisers on their 15th. September 28 is also the birthday of former Review editor Lorian Menhennett; on the 29th it’s birthday time for Sydney Mangiaracina, Roy Sansone, Laura Zimmer, Michael Clifton, Kimberly O’Shea, and anniversary time for Art and Diane McGrath; Sept. 30 Abigail Childs, Pat Falbo, Ed Lambke, Candy Doss Kowargoh, Sawyer Paeth, and happy anniversary to Mariann and Jim Blazek; Oct. 1 Mike O’Connor has a birthday; on Oct. 2, Gus and Marie Scolero celebrate an anniversary and Diane Rice happy birthday; Oct. 3 Paul Jargstorf a happy birthday.

Faleminderit and Mirupafshim (thank you and see you later, Albanian)
