Edgar J. Kukuk, 83, Longtime village resident
Edgar J. Kukuk, age 83, a resident of Forest Park for 43 years died on May 6, 2007, at Loyola Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 23, 1923, to Paul and Erna Kukuk in Hamburg, Germany where he was raised.
Kukuk was a veteran of the German Army serving during World War II. He was a longtime employee of Pepper Construction before his retirement in 1989. Kukuk was extremely dedicated to his family, friends and trade. He was also a member of the Hansa Soccer Club.
He is survived by his son Peter Kukuk of Forest Park and daughter Monika Marc of Lombard, Ill. He was the devoted grandfather of Nicole and Lucas Marc and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hella.
A visitation was held May 11 and funeral service May 12 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home in Oak Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 2700 Patriot Boulevard, Suite 100, Glenview, Ill., 60026 are appreciated.
