Robert deBeers, 66, Former village resident

Robert “Charlie” deBeers, 66, of Hillside, has died. He was a former resident of Forest Park. An avid reader, deBeers also had an appreciation for music and anything Scottish.

He is survived by his siblings, Franklin III “Sandy” deBeers, and Emily Cameron.

He had survived a son, Ricky deBeers; and his parents, Franklin Jr. and Nancy deBeers.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison, Forest Park. Interment is at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Daniel T. Gilson, 21, Oak Park resident

Daniel Thomas Gilson, 21, of Oak Park, died April 9, 2009.

Gilson was an outdoor enthusiast, loved animals and was a human rights activist.

He is survived by his parents, Kathleen Gaylord Gilson and William Gilson; his siblings, Jean, Bill, Jeremy and Terri Gilson; his grandparents, Tom and Sandy Gaylord; an aunt, Elizabeth Gaylord Schutt; and his partner, David Lionel Tidwell.

Gilson had survived his grandparents, Joan Gaylord and William Gilson Sr.; and his uncle, Timothy Gaylord.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Ahern Funeral Home, 6938 W. North Ave., Chicago. Donations to the Animal Care League, 1013 Garfield St., Oak Park, Ill., 60302, are appreciated.

Lillian E. Schaper, 91, Funeral services April 29

Lillian E. Schaper, 91, has died. She was a resident of Westchester and had previously resided in Forest Park.

Schaper retired from the Illinois Bell Telephone Company after 43 years. She was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was active with the Ruth Guild and was a past president of the Ladies Aid. She was also an avid quilters’ group member and volunteered at the Broco Thrift Shop in Melrose Park.

Schaper is survived by her sisters, Ruth Sears and Gladys Moentmann; a sister-in-law, Elaine Schaper; her nieces, Kathleen Mansch, Lynne Slouber, Pamela Fortino, Susan Potter, Nancy Curtis, Peggy Toman, Elise Moentmann; a nephew, Timothy Moentmann; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She had survived a brother, Lester “Bud” Schaper; and a sister, Gertrude Boblowski.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 305 Circle, Forest Park, at 10 a.m. Interment at Elm Lawn Cemetery will follow.
