Sylvia Ellen Tripp, 84, Former village resident
Sylvia Ellen Tripp (Matthys), 84, died in Lexington Nursing Home on Aug. 8 after a long illness. She was born in Maywood and lived much of her life in Forest Park.
Tripp was a long-time member of First United Church of Christ in Forest Park. She was an active participant in the senior activities coordinated by the village, attending many of their functions. Since 2005, she had been a resident of Lexington Home in Elmhurst.
Tripp is survived by her children, Thomas and Robert Tripp; daughters-in-law, Virginia and Nancy Tripp; grandchildren, Faith Tripp Peloso, Joy McDowell, Daniel Tripp, Grace Tripp, Terri Sansone, Tom Tripp, James, Robert and John Tripp; great-grandchildren, Amy, Emmilee, Katie, Cory, Angel, Stacey, Joey, Cassie, Nick, Jimmy, Elaina, Sydney, Rachel, Lauren, Vivian, Sean, Antwan, Keonna and D’Andre.
She was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Violet Matthys; her husband, Sydney; a son, Jon; and a daughter-in-law, Claire.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12 at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow as Chapel Hill Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Hospice.
Kathleen E. Clark, 65, Forest Park resident
Kathleen E. “Kitty” Clark (Kornaus), 65, of Forest Park, has died.
She is survived by her husband, Philip C. Clark Sr.; her children, Philip Jr. and Mary Beth Mear; grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Grace, Philip III, Monica, Ronna, Melissa, Joe, Nick, A.J., Luke, Amanda, Emily and Alex; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace; her mother, Wanda Kornaus; and her siblings, Dennis, Danny, Terry, Michael and Nancy.
Clark was predeceased by her father, Alex Kornaus.
Funeral services were held at St. Bernardine Church under the direction of Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison. Interment services were held privately.
