Sarah C. Fabricius, 82, Forest Park resident
Sarah C. Fabricius, 82, of Forest Park, died Dec. 23, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Henning Fabricius; and a daughter, Kelly Ward.
Visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison. Interment services will be held privately.
Wilhelm Schkalee, 87, Longtime village resident
Wilhelm Schkalee, age 87, a Forest Park, died on Dec. 24 at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. He was a Forest Park resident for more than 57 years.
Schkalee was born on Sept. 15, 1922, in Lubomirka, Ukraine. A WW II survivor, he lived in Poland, Germany and Italy before emigrating to the U.S. in 1951. He was a rivet maker for over 25 years at the Chicago Rivet Co. and retired in 1987. Schkalee was awarded the Camp Paradise Loyal Servant Award for his help in the construction of the Willow Creek Community Church camp in the north woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
He is survived by his wife, Martha of Forest Park; his son, Reinhardt of Park Ridge; a sister, Lydia Schmalandt of Downers Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Wednesday Dec. 30, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park where funeral services will be held on Thursday Dec. 31 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
