The 2010 Forest Park Pride awards honored homeowners and businesses fearless enough in this economy to significantly rehab and invest in their property. More than 150 people crowded McAdam Landscaping last Wednesday night at the Forest Park Chamber and Development’s annual meeting, where property owners were feted.
Winners included Madison Street’s newest restaurants Duckfat Tavern & Grill and Bua Hana, the rebuilt façade of Schauer’s Hardware Store, and Elite Tire Service on Harlem. Also honored was the new Forest Park Police Department Criminal Investigations Division building, which replaced a bathroom-less double-wide trailer parked for nine years behind the police station.
Winning homeowners were the Havey and Scala-Mallers families on the 7600 block of Adams, the Tarara family on the 500 block of Marengo and the Bogojevich-Coghill family on the 400 block of Marengo.
