Eleanor O. Niko, formerly of Forest Park, died April 2, 2010, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.
She was the wife of the late Sam Niko Sr.
She is survived by her children, Sam (Marcia) Niko Jr. and Heidi (and the late Terry) Ekberg; her grandchildren Sam (Kimm) Niko III, John (Ben) Niko, Mindy (Chad) Bergeron and Jim Ekberg; her great-grandchildren Ellie and Jacob Bergeron; her sister Gladys Thelin; her brothers Paul (Gladys) Mielke and William (Delores) Mielke; her sister-in-law Irene Niko, and many nieces and nephews.
Burial, the service for which was private, was at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
A local memorial service will be held on July 31 at Peace Lutheran Church in Lombard. A memorial service in Florida was held April 15 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in South Daytona.
