Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy has called on former assistant principal Clotilde Frankiewicz to lead the Forest Park high school as the search continues for a permanent principal.

Frankiewicz has been with the school since it opened in 2005 at 8601 W. Roosevelt Rd.

“I am pleased that she has agreed to step up to this role and serve in the interim position,” Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Superintendent Nettie Collins-Hart said in a statement. “Her leadership will help to ensure stability as we continue the search process. With Dr. Frankiewicz at the helm, our students, faculty, and staff will remain confident that the excellence for which PMSA is known will continue.”

When reached by the Review, Frankiewicz declined to comment.

She replaces former principal Ed Moyer, who has been promoted to a new administrative position in the district. As executive director of assessment and planning, Moyer will “serve as a key figure in planning and implementing various district-wide school and student support initiatives,” according to a press release.

TaQuoya Kennedy, the district’s communications director, said that PMSA does not have a timeline in place for the hiring of a new principal. They will wait as long it takes to find the best candidate for the school, she said.
