Lifelong resident of Forest Park, Gertrude Erkman passed away on Sept. 18, 2010, three weeks shy of her 89th birthday.
Gertrude was the beloved wife of the late J.W.; loving mother of Ronald (Carol) Erkman, Patty (Jim Kraus) Robertson and Gary (Kim) Erkman; dearest grandmother of Julie, Brooke (Matt) Dawes, Jill, Jay (Heather) Brett, Melissa, and Lauren; dear great-grandmother of Chloe, Tyler, Abigail, Bryce, and Dylan; fond sister of Herbert (Shirley) Grunwald, Lee Paetkae, Lori (Ron) Pilat and the late Edmund (Lorraine) Grunwald; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gertrude was born on Oct. 6, 1921. She lived in Forest Park from 1923 to 2005. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She worked at North America Federal Savings and continued to work there as it changed to Hinsdale Federal Savings.
