This week we’re happy to introduce Jean Lotus as the new editor of the Forest Park Review. Jean jumped right in, posting two solid stories to the Review’s website, and working hard now to get the weekly print version out the door.

While new to most of our readers, Jean is well known to those of us working at the Review and its sister publications. For the past couple of years, Jean has been one of our go-to freelancers writing almost weekly for one or the other of our papers and when vacations came jumping in with both feet to cover towns and file stories.

And it was during a just completed spell where she filled a void at our Landmark paper in Riverside and Brookfield, that it seemed eminently clear to me that Jean is one of those rare community journalists who is as comfortable chasing down a crime story as she is sitting in a classroom gathering thread for a feature story. She can delve deep into a local government controversy and write a moving obituary.

This is the stuff of community journalism. Writing about a town and reflecting it back in its wonder and its warts.

We are glad to have Jean Lotus on board. We offer our thanks to Nick Moroni, our editor for the past year.
