We’re suckers for the Holiday Walk which comes round again this Friday. Forest Park is tops when it comes to community events. St. Pat’s Parade. SummerFest. Rib Fest. The Bob Haeger All-School Picnic.
But for us, nothing captures the essence of Forest Park so much as the Chamber’s Holiday Walk. It has all the vitality of the Madison Street shops and restaurants and reflects all the small town virtues of Forest Park.
There’s Santa Claus. Horse-drawn carriage rides. Marshmallow roasting. Shopping. Dinner with family and friends. And, then, our favorite, the live window displays where our very engaged merchants and restaurants compete to one-up each other with their sweet, goofy, sometimes spectacular live-action windows. This is just big fun. This Friday. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All along Madison Street.
