The District 209 school board voted Jan. 15 to extend by two years the contract of Superintendent Nettie Collins-Hart, who was hired in 2008. The new contract extends to June 2015. She also received a $20,000 raise.
“I think the superintendent has done a great job,” said former board president Chris Welch. “She has brought stability to a needed position. In addition, she basically has to work for two boards.”
Collins-Hart currently earns $218,791.13. She also receives a $9,000 annuity and almost $49,000 in other benefits, according to the compensation report on the district’s website.
