Ruth and George Ashman talking to Herta Lisic (left).JACKIE SCHULZ/Contributor

Pianist Ruth Ashman and her husband George attended a piano recital given by David Leehey of Oak Park last Sunday. Dr. Leehey will be competing in a piano competition in Paris later this month. Following the recital, David’s wife, Rosalyn, served a gourmet French dinner consisting of Boeuf Bourguignon, crêpes, homemade croissant rolls, wine and haricots verts (green beans). Truffles were served for dessert. Herta Lisic is shown talking to the Ashmans.

Good luck to Forest Park’s cutest couple, Anton Thurmond and Ania Chodorowcka. Ania and Anton have entered a Valentine’s Day contest on WGN television and are now in the top 10 of more than 1,500 pictures entered. They would appreciate your vote so they can win first prize — a trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico! Voters can vote up to 100 times a day. That’s 100 votes per registered email and 100 votes per computer IP address each day. Voting ends Friday, Feb. 15 at noon. Find the submission address at www.forestparkreview.com.

Everyone in town is heartbroken at the thought of St. Bernardine’s school closing. But activities in the parish go on. The annual dinner and fashion show will be held on April 18 at Crystal Sky Banquets in McCook. Co-chairs for this event are Mary Sullivan and Chris Dunaway. If you know of anyone who is under the weather, call Marge Moskos and she’ll see that those people will be remembered in prayers. Marge’s number is 708-848-7712. The women are much involved in Fisher House, located on the campus of Hines Hospital. They prepare meals and are involved in other activities at Fisher House. If you would like to assist the ladies, you can call Kathy Rush at 708-849-8481.
