Stanley M. Sakiewicz, age 68 of Hobart, Ind., formerly of Forest Park, succumbed to various forms of cancer after a long and courageous fight on April 6, 2013. He was born in 1944 in German-occupied Poland. Stan was a former employee of Parker-Hannifin and also Olson Rug in Chicago.
Lydia and Michael were a great support to their father and mother during this trying time. Stan is survived by his daughter, Lydia (Mark) McKinney of Portage, Ind., and son Michael (Monika) Sakiewicz of Schiller Park. He was grandfather of Scott Watson, Rylie McKinney and Natalia Sakiewicz.
He will be missed by former wife, Sandie Schlichting and her brother Skip (Linda) Schlichting of Paddock Lake, Wisc. He was uncle of Debbie, Dan, Howie and Brian Schlichting. In fulfillment of Stan’s wishes services will be private.
