Congratulations to Mary Sullivan and the St. Bernardine Women’s Club for a lovely evening of dinner and fashion at the Crystal Sky Banquet Hall last week. Among the guests and models at the dinner and fashion show, were supermodels, grandmother, mother and granddaughter: Cheryl Gould, Jen Zarosl and Abby Zarosl. The ladies gave the clothing by Shane a special je ne sais quoi. The following day the Sullivans along with many other families went to Saint Bernardine’s for Confirmation on Friday. Busy, busy.

It’s Happy Easter time again for the Greeks. So get out the red dye and start dying those eggs again. Easter is the greatest religious holiday for the Greeks. Midnight Mass with everyone holding a lit candle all through the Mass. Beautiful, but a bit scary. Never a mishap, though, I’m told.

The Forest Park Kiwanis club is 90 years old! Hard to believe, but this club, dedicated to making life better for the children of the world, has been around almost a century. Here they are after a small birthday party at Amelia’s Friday night. They’re posing in front of the Roos Building: site of the very first Forest Park Kiwanis Club meeting in 1903.

The Shortstop Lounge held its annual chili cookoff last Sunday and the final results are just in. 5th place was Tom Gorman, 4th place Sherry Eric; 3rd place was a tie; Pat Corn and Craig the Bartender, 1st place “Freitter” Crick.
