Sharon Jacknow spent a busy spring trying to save migrating birds from flying into buildings in downtown Chicago. Many animal protective organizations are trying to convince large building maintenance staff to turn off their lights during migration. Again this year, Sharon spent many hours picking up injured birds off the ground. Birds become confused and fly around and around buildings until they fall exhausted. Some of them die, but Sharon tries to save as many as she can. She gets them to a vet while there is still time. Nice work, Sharon, you are a real humanitarian.

He’d also like you to be aware of the fact that most of the candy is on sale in the little candy store this summer, although his owners know that dogs can’t eat chocolate.
