Looks like Forest Park lost out on the state’s first round of medical cannabis dispensary licenses. After saying last week that he would not act until all license applications were reviewed, Gov. Bruce Rauner accepted the recommendations of his predecessor’s staff — at least for Forest Park and Oak Park.

On Monday, Rauner approved the same candidates former Gov. Quinn had been poised to OK last month.

Three Forest Park dispensary hopefuls were shut out in Zone 35, where 12 applications were submitted for a single spot in Proviso, Leyden and Norwood Park Townships.

The winner was Floramedex LLC, a company incorporated in Harwood Heights. No address was given for the dispensary location.

But it appears there will still be a dispensary nearby. Next door in Zone 36, the governor approved the application of Future Transactions Holdings LLC in Oak Park. The dispensary is likely to be located at 7119-7121 North Avenue, near the Harlem and North intersection.
