The article in the Chicago Sun Times on March 11 wasn’t very flattering to Forest Park or to Anthony Calderone, quoting our mayor as saying, Young Lee was “seduced” and “beyond the ability to reject it … to this day I don’t believe a crime occurred. There was poor judgment. But crime and poor judgment are two different things.”

Someone should tell Tony that Officer Lee was admittedly driving a village-owned and -insured vehicle while intoxicated. Lee also took a 19-year-old female to a couple of saloons and got her “legally drunk” too. Some policeman this guy is.

Driving under the influence is a crime, Mayor. Any employee of the village of Forest Park who is found drinking while driving a police vehicle should be terminated. As mayor, you should know that.
