Garfield students in grades Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade took a field trip to the Apollo Theater today to see “Elephant & Piggie’s We Are in a Play!”. The play was based on the popular Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems. It was accurately described on the Apollo Theater’s website as, “A silly songfest of friendship and fun!” The students and staff of Garfield truly enjoyed watching as the popular characters Gerald the Elephant and his best friend Piggie were brought to life right before their eyes. The trip was sponsored by Garfield’s PBIS team. The PBIS team has been able to sponsor an end of the year theater field trip for students for several years now and the students have enjoyed every trip.
