Garfield’s 5th Annual Beach Blowout was held Friday, June 12 to send the students off to summer on a fun note!  The letter “A” was celebrated in the alphabet countdown to summer – “Aloha to school!  Aloha to summer!”  For this exciting event students competed in different games with their class that were planned by Garfield Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Farrington and run by the Garfield staff.  It’s always her hope that the event can be held outside, but luckily she had a Plan B for this rainy day.  Games played today included, Around the Hawaiian Islands, Hula Hoop Toss, Dress Like a Tourist, Penny Drop, Pass the Coconut, Musical Towels, Bowling, Spoon & Ball relay and a bounce house.  A fun time was had by all!
