Members of the Forest Park Preschool Team, Stacie Pelletier, Julia Espinosa and Jane Catezone took part in the 14th Illinois Collaborative Early Childhood Conference; Sharing a Vision on September 29th in Springfield. The focus of their Showcasing presentation was “Teachers Supporting Family Involvement”. Through family involvement, the Forest Park Preschool has been able to provide parents with better understanding of the curriculum, learning environment and establishes open/honest parent rapport. Key components of Forest Park Preschool that highlight family involvement include: Family Fests, Parent Meetings, End of Unit Celebrations, English Language Learning connections, field trips and technology. As showcasing presenters, these teachers fielded questions from professionals throughout the state.
