On Wednesday, April 13th, Garfield Elementary and Grant-White schools held a McTeacher’s Night fundraiser at the McDonald’s in Forest Park, a way to bring the Garfield/Grant-White teachers together to meet parents of students and members of the community while raising funds for the school. The restaurant was full of families supporting the school while waiting to see their teachers, Principal Chyla Weaver, and a visit from Ronald McDonald.
Twenty-five teachers and staff worked during the event. The “McTeacher jobs” included, greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, and serving ice cream.
The money raised will go into the PTC fund to support the schools. A special thank-you goes to Sue Harvey, PTC Vice President, who organized the entire event.
