Marilyn Ramirez (nee Riehle), 48, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, formerly of Forest Park, died on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her home in Conesville. 

She was born March 30, 1968 in Melrose Park, the daughter of Wayne and Myrna (Ramker) Riehle, and grew up in Forest Park. On Jan. 31, 1994, she married Eugenio Ramirez in Wapello, Iowa. She had worked as a clerk for the City of Conesville and with special needs children at the Columbus Community School and was known for her caring, empathic and gentle caregiver ways. People would often comment on her hospitality and heart of gold. A member of the Grandview Community Bible Church, she took several lay missionary courses. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, animals, thrift store shopping, and laughing and talking over coffee. 

Marilyn Ramirez will be missed by her husband, Eugenio Ramirez of Conesville; her children, Daniel Antonio Ramirez and his wife Nanette, Marina Ramirez, Mark Ramirez and Mauricio Ramirez, all of Conesville; one grandchild, Fernando Sabastian; her mother and step-father, Myrna and Dennis Wolf; her siblings, Mark Riehle, Mitch Riehle and his wife Rosa, Margaret Riehle-Moeller and her husband Steve, and Mary Gosztola and her husband David; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, aunts and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Columbus Junction Community Schools high school gym, with interment at Conesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5 from 4 till 8 p.m. at the school.
