Applications due, April 17; painting day, May 13:
The application deadline has been extended till April 17 for the outdoor art project being planned to spruce up the concrete walls of the Circle Avenue bridge. The idea consists of offering independent artists and organizations such as Little League, the library, the park district, Cub Scouts, Kiwanis, etc., to adopt one or more 10 foot section and create something artistic and flattering for display. Applications are now being accepted. All are welcome, from artists to families, and everyone in between. The bridge will be closed for a day filled with music, food, and creativity. You have from morning till evening to work on your design. Approved applicants will be notified via email. Once approved, a 0 non-refundable fee is required and a hold-harmless agreement must be executed. Included with the cost is the paint, paint brushes, keepsake tote bag, food and beverages. Roosevelt streetscaping project
Thursday, March 23 at 9 a.m., village parking lot, Roosevelt and Circle:
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the new Roosevelt Road streetscaping project. All stakeholders and residents are encouraged to attend. To stay informed during the construction, please sign up for email notifications. The email address is publicworks@forestpark.net and the subject line should read “Roosevelt Road Construction Contact.” Please include your name, business name and address, phone number and email address. Be sure to include anyone in your business who should receive notifications.
Library open
Saturday March 25 from 3 to 5 p.m., Forest Park Public Library:
The annual STEAM Fair will be held in the Austin Room. The fair celebrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) by offering demonstrations, robots, and hands-on stations for science-lovers of all ages.
Library closed
The Forest Park Public Library will be closed on Friday, March 24 for a staff in-service day.
AARP Tax Aide

Green Fling
Friday, March 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Field Stevenson School:
The Green Fling indoor carnival, sponsored by the South PTO, reuses, recycles and has fun with a craft room, cake & cookie walk, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District community garden, and a dance party with DJ Ryan Russ in the gym. Free admission if you bring a nut-free cake, cookie tray or pie, or suggested donation of per family. All are welcome.
Vehicle sticker deadline
Friday, March 31 at 5 p.m., Village Hall:
Vehicle stickers expire on March 31. Purchase your sticker at Forest Park Village Hall, 517 Desplaines Ave. Hours: Mondays, 8 a.m. until 7 p.m./Tuesday – Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Renewing stickers can be purchased online at www.forestpark.net.
