Betty Lou Breseman

Betty Lou Breseman (nee Kimmel), 79, a longtime Forest Park resident, died on July 1, 2017 in Tampa, Florida. Born on Aug. 18, 1937, she served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957, joining right out of high school at the age of 17. In 1965, at the age of 28 and while raising three children on her own, she put herself through nursing school and graduated as an LPN to support her family. She had a lot of help and support from her mother, Isabel and her uncle, Harold Rehbein. Her neighbor, Jackie Schulz, who lived down the block on Beloit Ave., helped as well. To this day, Jackie is still loved and appreciated by all three of Mrs. Breseman’s children.

She worked at Loyola, Hines and Madden hospitals throughout her career and was very religious. She loved her family and will be missed by all.

Betty Lou Breseman was the mother of Joseph Breseman Jr. (Michele), James, and Susan Breseman; the grandmother of Tiffany, Ronnie, Heather, Trisha, Ashley, Jimmy and Brittany; and the great-grandmother of four. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Phil and Isabel Kimmel.
