Friday Films: The Sense of an Ending
Sept. 15, 1:30 p.m., Forest Park Public Library Austin Room, 7555 Jackson Blvd.:
Forest Park Public Library will screen The Sense of an Ending, a British-American drama mystery starring Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, and Harriet Walter. The PG-13 film follows elderly divorcee Tony Webster (Broadbent) as he unravels a mystery from his youth. Based on the Julian Barnes novel by the same title, the film runs 1 hour, 48 minutes.
16th Annual Camp Out
Sept. 16-17, 5 p.m., Park District Baseball/Softball Fields, 7501 W. Harrison St.:
Don’t drive hours to go on a camp-out. The park district is turning the ballfields into a campground. Families are invited to pitch their tents for some overnight fun in the park. A chuck wagon will be set up, with hot dogs and beans, and a campfire for roasting marshmallows, and making s’mores. There will also be a late-night movie and time to tell some of your favorite ghost stories. The campout will conclude with a breakfast.
Mixology class
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 7 to 9:30 p.m., 7503 Madison St.:
Becci West, mixologist, will teach how to make cocktails for fall, such as elderflower old-fashioneds and Sazerac. She is currently bar manager at Scratch on Lake in Oak Park and owns Be Well Shrub Co. www.theurbanpioneergroup.com.

Librarian, educator, writer and competitive indoor precision pistol shooter will present on the mistakes writers make when talking about guns and how to avoid them.
